Rural Gite
|
|
|
In the heart of the Cevennes forest, within the protected area of the Cevennes National Park (mid-mountain range), these gites are part of a fully restored traditional farmhouse, with direct access to major hiking trails. You'll discover the local fauna, flora, and preserved landscapes throughout your walks.
At night, our celestial vault lights up and reveals what appears to be a strange cloud, or is it a veil? In fact, it's the Milky Way!
In 2018, the International Dark-Sky Association awarded the RICE label, making the Cevennes National Park
Europe's largest dark sky reserve.
Children and parents will discover fruit and vegetable farming activities as well as farm animals. Some products are available for purchase on-site, depending on the season and availability.
These high-comfort gites are certified "Accueil Paysan". They consist of:
1. 2-bedroom gite: Le Fenil

|
2. 1-bedroom gite: La Clède

Each gite opens onto a meadow, where you'll find garden furniture and a barbecue. You can enjoy your meals and cook outdoors.
A swimming pool (9.20m long, 4.50m wide) is available from June 10th to September 9th. It includes a paddling pool for young children. There's also a leisure area with a ping-pong table and a petanque court. Those who prefer culture to television will enjoy our varied library and board games. We also have toys for young children.
As members of the Cévennes Ecotourism Association since 2007, we are committed to developing ecological, dynamic, and sustainable tourism.

We have committed to this by signing the
European Charter for Sustainable Tourism in collaboration with the Cevennes National Park. |
A thoughtful approach to maintaining the grounds around the gites has allowed
the flourishing of rich vegetation, dotted with numerous wildflowers.
Sheep help with clearing undergrowth, lawn areas are not cut too short, and some areas are left wild.
Many flowers are planted or sown and bloom according to the seasons. Pesticides are banned.
This environment promotes the reproduction and development of numerous butterfly species. Currently, nearly 50 species have been identified around the house. Sabine will be delighted to help you discover them.
You'll enjoy the guided tour of the property, which will enlighten you about the history of this farm, already documented in the Middle Ages.
In the morning, curious children can participate in the daily care of farm animals.
As part of the Nature Festival organized by the national park, you can access free guided walks, exhibitions, and discovery workshops of high quality. Other cultural and sports activities are also available.
The center of Saint-Germain de Calberte village is only 6km away. You'll find all shops and services there, as well as a multipurpose hall where selected films are shown throughout the year.
Nearby, there are two tennis courts, a horse riding center, and a municipal swimming pool with a lifeguard (swimming lessons available in summer).
